Meet the Trainers

Jeff Hacker (Hacker’s Creek Kennel’s Owner, CPDT & AKC CGC Evaluator)

Jeff  has over 40 years of experience in the field of Dog Training. Jeff earned his Career Diploma from Penn Foster College in Canine Obedience Training.

  • He has titled dogs in AKC obedience (hunt test for Labrador Retrievers)
  • He has certified numerous dogs in the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) program
  • He is a canine good citizen evaluator (Ask us how to get your dog certified)
  • He has ttended numerous out of state seminars and worked with some of the top trainers in the U.S.
  • He is a member of the Pet Dog Training Association, and is also a K-9 Red Cross CPR first aid team member
  • He works with dogs of all age ranges and breeds. Is proficient in chain/slip collar, prong collar, and E-collar training. As well as, specializing in Rehabilitation Training for Agressive Behaviors.

Rachel Mitchell (Kennel Manager, In-Kennel Training Coordinator, CPDT & AKC CGC Evaluator)

Rachel is Hacker’s Creek Kennel’s Office Manager as well as In-Kennel Training Coordinator. She has worked for Jeff and Emily for the past 3 years. She is a Bloomington resident and frequents local parks, dog parks, Lake Monroe and dowtown with her family and their dog Ikaika. If you see her – say hello!

  • She has mentored and performed mentored training under Jeff for the past 3 years.
  • She earned an accelerated Career Diploma from Penn Foster College in Canine Obedience Training.
  • She is a certified AKC CGC Evaluator (Ask us how to get your dog certified!)
  • She is affluent in +Reinforcement Training and Clicker Training
  • She is also currently working toward her K-9 First Aid Certification
  • She works with dogs of all age ranges and breeds. Proficient in chain/slip collar, prong collar, and E-collar training.

Haley Brewer (Kennel Assistant, Canine Behaviorist & Trainer)

Haley has worked at Hackers Creek Kennel in the past, before returning to school to complete her degree in Animal Behavior at Purdue University. She currently lives in Bloomington and works as a kennel assistant and trainer/behaviorist at Hackers Creek Kennel.

  • She has worked with numerous dog trainers, including Jeff Hacker, for three years and has taken an internship under a professional trainer for a year.
  • She has worked with different variety of animals in terms of behavior including dogs, cats, sheep, cattle, and some zoo animals.
  • She has completed her four year degree in Animal Science: Behavior and Well-Being from Purdue University and completed many different animal behavior related projects.
  • She is currently working on her career diploma for Canine Obedience Training from Penn Foster.
  • She works with dogs of all age ranges and breeds. Proficient in chain/slip collar, prong collar, and E-collar training.
